HUNTER GATHER COOK offer private courses throughout the year. Our Private courses are tailor made to suit your requirements and we take great care to design the course around what you wish to learn about from the huge range of skills possessed by the HGC team.

With two sites operating throughout the year, we are very flexible on dates and should be able to accommodate you on your chosen day of adventure! Just let us know what date you have in mind, what it is you would like to focus on and how many are in your group.


We can offer private days from 12 people up to groups of 30. Here are a few things off the HGC menu that you might want to include in your day:

  • Butchery (subject to season & availability)
  • Fur – Rabbit, Squirrel, Roe deer and Fallow Deer
  • Feather – Pigeon, Duck and Pheasant
  • Fish – Trout, Perch, Carp, Bass and Mackerel
  • Deer in a day Butchery, Charcuterie, Cooking & Smoking
  • Wild food Identification, preparation, pickling, preserving and cooking
  • Mushrooms Identification, preparation, pickling, preserving and cooking
  • Outdoor Cookery Methods Cooking with fire, Asadors, Spit roasts, wood selection, Underground ovens, Hot & Cold Smoking, curing, spits and skillets, log candles and Clay ovens and Dutch ovens.
  • Wild Cocktails Useful plants, liqueurs, infusions, mixology and… tasting!
  • Fire Fire by Friction, wood selection, tinder and flint & steel
  • Wild food banquets

We can also arrange any outdoor kit for you that we use on all our courses from knives to cast iron skillets.
